LOGISTICS company Brambles says it will “vigorously defend” any class action levelled against it on grounds of contravening disclosure rules.
In a statement to the Australian Stock Exchange today, the company confirmed it had been served with a class action by law firm Slater & Gordon.
Fairfax media has also reported the company was named in law suit by another firm, Maurice Blackburn.
In a statement to the Australian Stock Exchange, Brambles noted media reports that law firm Maurice Blackburn had announced it was assessing investor interest and the merits of a potential class action against Brambles regarding its FY17 first quarter trading update lodged in October 2016.
At the time of publishing, Brambles was still to confirm it had received documents concerning the suit by Maurice Blackburn.
“Brambles strongly believes that it at all times complied with its continuous disclosure and all other regulatory obligations in relation to those disclosures,” the company said in a statement.
“Should Brambles be served by Maurice Blackburn, it will vigorously defend those proceedings.”
