PROMINENT international marine and engineering company, LOC Group, says growth in the Asia-Pacific region is behind its decision to open an office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

LOC’s KL office is its 12th in the Asia-Pacific region and its 35th globally, one of them being in Hunter Street, Sydney.

The office is to be led by Faisharul Arman Abdul Latiff who has been appointed managing director.

He joins LOC from Rosen.

“We are already actively engaging with the local markets and the response so far is very good. Our clients are pleased to see the presence of an industry name such as LOC in Kuala Lumpur,” Mr Faisharul said.

“As we undertake our approved supplier qualification processes with our local clients, we are very much open for business and able to service any marine and engineering related matters our local clients may have – utilising both our local and regional team of marine and engineering experts.”

LOC regional director for Asia Pacific, Alex Harrison, said the new KL office marked another important step in Asia-Pacific strategic growth.

“Although we will service all our traditional markets from KL, we expect our primary focus for this office to be the energy service sector as we see KL being the regional oil and gas service hub of the future,” Mr Harrison said.
