BASS Island Line’s new ship the John Duigan has done its bit for women’s health on King Island.
The John Duigan began operations last month moving cargo between northern Tasmania, Victoria and King Island last month.
One of its first cargoes was a mobile breast screen unit that was shipped to King Island.
The mobile screening unit provided a screening service for women on the Island from 18 May to 31 May.
Bass Island Line business manager Tom McBroom said they were pleased to contribute.
“TasPorts is proud to partner with BreastScreen Tasmania to enable them to bring their mobile screening unit to King Island,” Mr McBroom said.
“We are very pleased to support the breast screening program and the health benefits it offers for the women of King Island.”
