SCAN Global Logistics recently announced it had expanded in Australia with the acquisition of Kestrel Freight & Customs, effective on 2 July.
Western Australia-based Kestrel is a full-service freight forwarder that specialises in support to projects in industries such as mining; construction; oil and gas; and telecommunications.
SGL Australia managing director Raymond Thomas Street said Kestrel had demonstrated impressive growth in its core activities.
“I am convinced that Kestrel is a perfect fit to SGL Australia with its complementary business model and customer-centric approach,” he said.
“The acquisition will provide us with a wider network and strengthen our services in the Australian market.”
Kestrel managing director Geoff Butcher said the acquisition was a very exciting event for both companies, their customers, employees and subcontractors.
“Our companies have worked together frequently in the past and we hold similar values and philosophies on providing our services and developing relationships,” he said.
