LOGISTICS software group WiseTech Global today announced its acquisition of Bysoft, a provider of automated customs and freight forwarding software based in São Paulo, Brazil.
WiseTech Global CEO Richard White said Bysoft’s leadership, cross-border compliance expertise and product development knowledge was highly valued.
“We know Bysoft well through our long-standing Wise Business Partner relationship,” he said.
“Acquiring the market-leading customs software vendor in Brazil gives us an incredibly strong foundation for our South American expansion.”
Mr White continued, saying WiseTech was focused on improving productivity, quality, speed, visibility and manageability in the logistics industry.
“Given the deep complexities and challenges of cross-border logistics in Brazil, we believe the powerhouse combination of WiseTech Global and Bysoft will provide significant benefit for South American logistics providers and multi-nationals world-wide,” he said.
Bysoft managing director Edneia Chebabi expressed her excitement about the acquisition.
“With the global strength of WiseTech now invested in Brazil, Bysoft will accelerate our innovation and product development and integration with CargoWise One to improve our Brazilian and global customers’ productivity and border compliance capability,” she said.
Ms Chebabi is to continue on as Bysoft managing director as the company’s operations are integrated within the WiseTech Global group. The acquisition was announced soon after plans were revealed for a new free trade deal incorporating Australia and key nations within Latin America.
