KOREAN shipping giant Hyundai Merchant Marine has been announced as the latest entity to join Mizzen Group’s live pricing platform.
Mizzen Group provides a global exchange for lines to manage dynamic spot container rates and distribute directly to customers via Mizzenit.com and other platforms.
HMM is the eleventh largest shipping line (according to Alphaliner) and the largest from Korea.
General manager HMM Australia, John Van Pelt, said HMM and Inchcape (its agent) were “excited to participate in the Mizzen pricing platform to expand our offering to the market”.
“Thank you Mizzen for providing us access to such an exciting product,” Mr Van Pelt said.
Mizzen Group managing director Jon Charles said they were looking forward to working with HMM and Inchcape “in providing digital distribution of pricing to allow transactions to occur 24/7 without the need for additional resources”.
“Mizzen is a technology company developing digital products and solutions to help shipping lines set and distribute dynamic spot market prices in a new way to their customers in the emerging digital sales channel,” he said.
Mr Charles said Mizzen Group products were built from shipping industry experience by a team combining shipping industry knowledge, digital and technology capability and executive experience from technology innovators.
“We use this capability to facilitate the growth of the emerging digital sales channel for our partner shipping lines and freight forwarders so they can both reap the cost savings, reach and data insights of transacting digitally,” he said.
HMM joins eight other prominent shipping lines using Mizzenit.com and is one of five lines providing live pricing for instant quoting.
