A GLOBAL supplier of logistics, packaging and material sourcing, OIA Global, has announced its southeast Asia expansion with the opening of its first company-owned office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
OIA’s says its decision to open the office, is driven by “customer growth and the continued growth of the Malaysian economy”.
Malaysia posted a strong 5.6% GDP expansion in the first quarter ending March, 2017, said OIA.
Headquartered in the United States, OIA is a global player in freight forwarding and logistics solutions including ocean freight services to/from all major ports worldwide, including LCL and FCL shipments, consolidations, and project cargo.
The company owns 69 offices in 27 countries.
The new Kuala Lumpur office supports the existing OIA Penang location led by Herlyn Choo, branch manager. He said, “Malaysia continues to lead in exports of energy, electronic equipment, wood products, textiles and chemicals”.
“The increased volume of imports and exports are a clear message for OIA Global to continue to expand here in Malaysia,” said Mr Choo.
