A ‘WORKING tariff service’ aimed at helping customs brokers in the classification of goods has been launched by the CBFCA.
CBFCA commercial manager Scott Carson said the service was an easy to use on-line facility to assist users in the classification of goods, a key step in the import customs clearance process.
Daily Cargo News understands the move to develop the service came as members had expressed concern to the Council about recent consolidations of tariff services providers in the marketplace.
Mr Carson said the new service was developed in extensive consultation with members and the software was developed to be “fit for service” to meet members’ needs.
The service is up and running now.
