OCEAN Network Express (ONE) announced it had received delivery of the 14,000-TEU ONE Aquila at the Kure Shipyard of Japan Marine United Corporation in Hiroshima.
According to a statement from ONE, the sublet owner of the Panama-flagged vessel is NYK, and ONE Aquila will phase in THE Alliance’s Asia to North America (West Coast) PM3 service with its port rotation Hong Kong, Yantian, Ningbo, Shanghai, Pusan, Prince Rupert, Vancouver, Seattle, Pusan, Kwangyang and Hong Kong.
The ship’s hull form minimises engine-room space, thereby improving cargo-loading efficiency.
The vessel also employs an “integrated navigation system”, which consolidates functions of vessel systems, and it also features a wide window on the bridge wing, which ONE says allows vessel operators with a wider view from the when for safer berthing and unberthing.
