SHIPPING Australia’s Port Kembla Luncheon happens once every two years, and it is certainly an event to look forward to.

As attendees arrived, drinks were served, and conversations were had while watching surfers in the rain at the nearby beach.

The program kicked off with NSW Ports CEO Marika Calfas giving a brief update about the company, without missing the chance to spruik the idea of a container terminal at Port Kembla.

The keynote speech was delivered by LINX Cargo Care CEO Anthony Jones, who spoke about how innovation is changing the way the company does business.

Your correspondent can report the food was delicious as always, particularly the lamb – a generous hunk of meat with peas and mash.

And no Shipping Australia event would be complete without door prizes. Several smiling folks went home with gift-wrapped boxes.
