THERE was an old school feel to the recent Shipping Australia Victoria branch lunch.
Held in a somewhat reclusive location in Melbourne’s south-eastern bayside, the event attracted a cross section of representatives from shipping companies, stevedores and ship agencies.
The event began with drinks in the foyer where the latest gossip was shared and the fortunes of the year gone by were shared.
It was a particularly hot day outside and the drinks went down easily.
Lunch was a delicious choice of beef steak, fish and noodles.
The event was chaired by SAL chief executive Rod Nairn while MIRRAT’s Jed Smith won a dozen bottles of wine via the business card lucky dip.
