PROTESTERS wearing horse masks disrupted the Australian Logistics Council Forum 2018 at the Royal Randwick race track in Sydney.
Wearing horse-head masks, about 15 protesters burst into the room, throwing flyers on tables in front of executives and politicians and other attendees.
The protesters unfurled a banner accusing ICTSI of “exploiting workers”, “crippling communities” and “supporting dictatorships”. ICTSI is the operator of the Victoria International Container Terminal (VICT).
The protesters meandered around the room shaking maracas and blasting air-horns.
ALC managing director Michael Kilgariff was delivering a welcome address when the protesters came in and took the stage.
Mr Kilgariff tried to push the protesters off the stage at one point.
After about five minutes, the horse-headed protesters were herded out of the room.
“As we saw this morning, industrial action is still a very real threat,” Mr Kilgariff said.
