MORE than 250 industry delegates are to come together at Melbourne Park next week for the 2018 ALC & ATA Supply Chain Safety & Compliance Summit.

To be held on Wednesday and Thursday next week, the event is expected to focus heavily on changes to Chain of Responsibility laws that are to take effect from 1 October.

The Summit is to hear from political decision-makers, including Deputy Prime Minister and infrastructure minister Michael McCormack and Victoria’s roads and ports minister Luke Donnellan.

There are also expected to be keynote addresses from leading Australian and international experts in safety, panel discussions exploring the major supply chain issues and interactive workshops to help provide attendees with the practical advice they need to ensure compliance.

A key focus is to be the industry-wide Master Code for heavy vehicle safety, which has been jointly developed by ALC and the ATA over the past year.
