THE Australian Trucking Association has been confirmed as co-host of the 2018 Supply Chain Safety & Compliance Summit, the Australian Logistics Council says.
The Summit is to be held on 5-6 September 2018 at the Melbourne Park Function Centre, featuring both policy discussions and workshops.
According to the ALC, the Summit is to be the last key industry event before the start of:
- Expanded Chain of Responsibility obligations under the Heavy Vehicle National Law, and
- New Registered Industry Code of Practice (Master Code) for heavy vehicle safety, jointly developed by ALC and ATA.
The Summit is held annually to raise awareness about Chain of Responsibility and provide practical advice to ensure high levels of safety and compliance.
The Summit is to focus on practical safety solutions for heavy vehicle operators and supply chain participants.
The Summit is to also discuss several policy issues, including those raised in ALC’s position paper, Improving Heavy Vehicle Safety the Australian Way, released in April this year.
