PLANNING to develop Fremantle’s Outer Harbour has taken a step forward with the appointment of Tim Collins as project director for the Westport Office.

The Westport Taskforce was established in September of last year to deliver a strategy for the planning, development and growth of Fremantle’s ports.

Mr Collins’ background includes business development principal for Arc Infrastructure and executive manager logistics for the CBH Group.

A key part of his role will be to ensure the community and stakeholders are engaged and consulted at every stage of the Outer Harbour development plans.

WA transport minister Rita Saffioti said Mr Collins’ wealth of knowledge and experience in port operations would be highly valuable to the Westport Taskforce’s investigations that will guide the state government’s planning and development of the Outer Harbour port facilities.

“I am confident he will provide strong leadership in developing Westport’s strategic plans for the necessary infrastructure and road and rail links that will maximise long-term economic benefits and future job opportunities,” Ms Saffioti said.

“I am particularly pleased that Mr Collins is committed to consulting with the community and key industries, which is integral to developing the strategy.”
