EX-WEST Australian Susanne Oud has been confirmed as a new director on the board of the British International Freight Association.
She replaces Roy Baker who stepped down having been on the Association’s board since 2005.
Ms Oud is operations director at EMEA and is based in London.
Born in Perth (Australia not Scotland), she reportedly learned the trade through positions with an exporter, shipping line and freight forwarder.
She later established the project forwarder and vessel agent, Westlink Shipping. She migrated from Australia to Britain in 1998 and joined Bellville Rodair, which she helped to build into an international business on four continents before it was acquired by OIA Global in 2013.
BIFA director general Robert Keen welcomed Ms Oud’s appointment.
“We welcome Susanne’s election to the BIFA Board,” Mr Keen said.
“She has had an excellent record of achievement since she joined the industry and brings significant expertise in a number of areas to our Board.”
