GLOBAL logistics provider Yusen Logistics announced it had acquired the UK e-commerce delivery and fulfilment specialist ILG.
In a statement, Yusen said it was anticipated that the acquisition would result in a 12% revenue growth, pushing it towards being one of the UK’s top 10 logistics providers.
ILG was established in 1990 and now offers 175,000 square feet of warehousing with more than 220 employees and more than 700 clients worldwide.
Yusen says its expansion into the e-commerce sector was a direct response to changing market behaviour, with the acquisition connecting Yusen’s services with ILG’s specialist knowledge.
Yusen Logistics UK managing director Andy Fitt said the acquisition reinforced Yusen’s commitment to continued investment in the UK.
“Our businesses complement each other perfectly and together we bring a new and compelling proposition to the market,” he said.
ILG managing director Mike Stephenson said: “Going forward, our customers will see new, enhanced services, as well as the familiar high standards of care they’ve come to expect from us”.
