SIR,

Any bets on how long it will take the other stevedores to follow DPWA and discover that they also “face a dynamic and evolving market with unprecedented change, major investment in infrastructure, increasing costs and declining tariffs”? This is no more than a cynical passing of revenue generation from the waterside (where the shipowner won’t pay increased stevedoring charges because putting up freight rates is unpalatable) to the landside where there is no concerted lobby for complaint.
