BUSINESSES from all over Australia assembled in Canberra this week for the 56th Australian Export Awards.

Barossa Valley winemaker Torbreck Vintners won this year’s Regional Exporter Award and assistant agriculture minister Senator Richard Colbeck said the award celebrated exporters outside metro areas.

“Our regional exporters play a vital role in supporting the prosperity of local communities, driving jobs and economic growth through their business ventures,” Senator Colbeck said.

“Congratulations to Torbreck Vintners for taking out the 2018 Regional Exporter Award.

“I would like to congratulate all the finalists for their hard work and dedication in raising the profile of Australian products in the international marketplace.

“It takes a lot of work to build international trade links and each of this year’s finalists has demonstrated extraordinary talent to succeed in a highly competitive global market.

“It is great to see regional Australian businesses using innovative approaches to help contribute to our global reputation as a provider of world-class products.”
