THE Victorian Transport Association announced that transport minister and Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack was scheduled to address the State Conference 2019.

The minister is scheduled to formally open the conference proceedings on 25 March.

VTA CEO Peter Anderson said the State Conference had enjoyed the support of successive Commonwealth transport ministers and assistant ministers for the past three years, and that Mr McCormack’s attendance showed the government is committed to understanding the needs of industry.

“With the industry being exposed to significant change and reform this year, it is welcome news that Minister McCormack will join us … to explain the transport and infrastructure priorities of the Morrison government,” Mr Anderson said.

“We look forward to welcoming him to our conference and providing a forum for important and robust conversations about the future of our industry, and the support operators need from government to be successful.”
