GLOBAL shipping group CMA CGM has been recognised at the Singapore International Maritime Awards 2019, organised by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore.

The company received the International Maritime Centre (Corporate) Award, which was accepted by Mathieu Girardin, vice president CMA CGM Asia regional office.

“We are very pleased to receive this award which highlights our commitment to Singapore, where we have established our regional hub for Asia-Pacific and where we have launched a series of initiatives and collaborations with homegrown maritime companies,” Mr Girardin said.

Since 2016, the group has set its regional hub in Singapore, where its subsidiary APL is also based.

In Singapore, the CMA CGM Group employs close to 1000 people and offers more than 100 services per week thanks to its best-in-class network of Ocean Alliance, North-South and Short-Sea lines. Its fleet navigation centre for the APAC region is also operated from Singapore.

CMA CGM has entered into several strategic partnerships aimed at boosting its presence and developing Singapore as an international maritime centre.

CMA CGM also owns the prominent Australian shipping line, ANL.
