INDIAN Register of Shipping says the markets of Malaysia, Indonesia and China are a focus as it seeks to grow business in the Asia Pacific region.

The classification society has reported receiving authorisation as a recognised organisation from the flag administrations of Malaysia and Thailand and expects recognition from other nations in the region soon.

The Singapore office is the classification society’s regional headquarters.

IRClass managing director Suresh Sinha said Singapore was one of the main Asia Pacific locations for global maritime companies.

“We see great value to have a regional headquarter in [Singapore] where its maritime sector is constantly developing – tapping on digitalisation and acquiring new technologies,” Mr Sinha said.

“For IRClass, these contract wins underlines the growing trust in the IRClass brand and our commitment to owners in Asia.” IRClass is an international ship classification society providing ship classification and certification as well as technical inspection services.
