A FLEET of specially-designed and durable Konecranes Gottwald Mobile Harbour Cranes is being used by shipping and logistics company, Winning International Group.

The cranes play an important role in the company’s supply chain, loading 30,000 tonnes a day of bauxite from feeder barges onto a mother vessel, ready for shipment between China and West Africa.

So successful have the cranes been, that the company doubled its fleet earlier this year with the purchase of four new cranes to extend its bulk material handling capability.

“Our Konecranes Gottwald Mobile Harbour Cranes have proven themselves in a rough open-sea environment,” vice president Winning International Group vice president Wang Chuan Yang said.

“They have been custom-tailored to our bauxite handling application, with reduced lifting capacities, but higher handling speeds to suit our operations,” .

The cranes used by Winning International Group are Konecranes’ Gottwald Model 8 – the largest in Konecranes’ mobile harbour crane range with operation cycles of 1,500 tonnes per hour.
