PROVIDER of autonomous drones Percepto has listed port safety and security as areas for business growth following the launch of its Sparrow drone product in Australia.

This follows the completion of several live mission demonstrations in Canberra.

Tests were observed in the capital by a delegation representing government, defence and industry organisations from across the country.

According to Percepto, the missions highlighted how ‘Sparrow’ drones could deliver value across a diverse range of industrial and enterprise applications in sectors including port and sea terminals as well as mining, oil and gas, renewable energy and utilities.

Percepto chief executive Dor Abuahsira spoke of growth in Australia.

“With Australia already breaking new ground in the adoption and application of commercial drones, we are excited that our market leading technology is now widely available here,” he said.

“We look forward to working closely with our partners, industry and enterprises across Australia, to discover new and innovative ways the Percepto Solution can be deployed.”

Percepto has highlighted that its demonstration coincided with the announcement of Google’s first commercial drone delivery service, launched in Canberra this month.
