TRANSPORT company Hunter Express will house its new distribution centre as part of AMP Capital’s new Crossroads Logistics Centre, located at Casula in Sydney’s south-west.

The company joins the likes of Costco, Electrolux and WesTrac who will also operate from the Crossroads site.

Working with property and project management firm TM Insight, Hunter Express was able to procure the new facility, which consists of a 9955 square-metre warehouse and 500 square-metre office.

“This new facility will provide us with a great deal more staging space and will be fitted with a state-of-the-art sortation system. This will enable us to advance our vision of providing customised solutions for most freight profiles,” Hunter Express CEO Mark Hunter said.

“We realise the needs of our customers and their consumers have changed dramatically in the last few years. Therefore, our brand promise, ‘delivered your way’ is at the heart of our strategic decisions,” he said.

The new facility will feature advanced sustainability initiatives including solar panels, recycled rainwater, energy efficient LED lighting and an environmentally friendly wash bay for truck cleaning.

“The location of the new facility is key to optimising our operations, as it is five minutes away from the M5 and M7 motorways. This saves each vehicle within our fleet 40 minutes per day, therefore dramatically increasing our productivity,” Mr Hunter said.

The facility is expected to be operational in late July 2019.
