QUBE Holdings logistics director John Digney says he is impressed with the Papua New Guinea operations of industrial and mining services business LCR.

Mr Digney travelled to PNG after the recent announcement of the Qube Holdings acquisition of LCR Group.

LCR is a mining and industrial services company, providing lift and shift materials handling solutions across both Australia and PNG.

After visiting several LCR site operations, Mr Digney talked of the impressive focus on safety.

“I have been very impressed with the LCR operations after my visit this week to their PNG sites,” he said.

“In talking with the various members of the LCR team, the company’s single-minded focus on safety first is strongly evident throughout their entire business.”

LCR is well-established in PNG, operating a growing industrial and mining service business since 2009. The business has depots in Port Moresby and Lae, allowing it to service PNG and the nearby Pacific Islands.

The LCR acquisition was announced in early May with the deal valued in the order of $135m.

Qube Holdings’ chief operating officer Paul Digney said the acquisition provided the ability to deliver enhanced broad spectrum mining and industrial services.

LCR chief executive and managing director Col Partington said the deal would drive a collective goal to increase a presence and customer focus both in Australia and internationally.

“I am very excited for the staff and customers of LCR,” Mr Partington said last month.

“Qube offers a great opportunity for all parties to be part of a growing national logistics business.”
