THE national transport safety investigator, the Australian Transport Safety Bureau has confirmed an investigation into an incident involving the airboat Gale Force on Sweets Lagoon, Northern Territory on 22 June.
The craft had four passengers and the master on board at the time.
Two passengers were injured, one seriously. The airboat suffered structural and equipment damage.

As part of the investigation, the ATSB is to interview the crew and passengers and gather additional information.
A final report is to be released at the end of the investigation.
“Should a critical safety issue be identified during the course of the investigation, the ATSB will immediately notify those affected and seek safety action to address the issue,” the ATSB said.
