TRADE-focussed law firm Rigby Cooke Lawyers have announced a new office in Dandenong South.

The new office is expected to provide a base for the firm to interact with logistics clients and trade-exposed businesses and other commercial clients.

Rigby Cooke customs and trade partner, Andrew Hudson said the firm was excited about the initiative.

“Not only does it put us closer to many of our clients in the manufacturing and logistics industries it also places us in the busy south-east Melbourne business corridor which continues to develop,” Mr Hudson said.

“It will also enable us to bring our services directly to members of the ECA, the FBIA, the CBFCA and their customers who are located in the area,” he said.

“I personally am looking forward to delivering my education and information sessions in the premises here.”

Melbourne’s South-East region has been identified by the Victorian Planning Authority as a national employment and innovation cluster, one of seven strategic hubs expected to attract workers, students and visitors.

According to the VPA the Dandenong NEIC currently employs more than 66,300 people.

Rigby Cooke commercial partner Julia Cameron said the firm’s vision for the south-east region was consistent with growth patterns in other states.

“We have seen in Sydney the move to develop multiple CBDs as the city continues to grow,” Ms Cameron said.

“Melbourne is no different, and it will require multiple activity centres to service and employ a growing, diverse and dispersed population.

“The VPA recognises this, and we do too. That’s why we’re growing our presence in one of Melbourne’s most important industrial centres.”
