CONTAINERCHAIN has confirmed it will be launching its redesigned and rebuilt Notification application across Australia on 1 August 2019.

The Containerchain Notification system is used by transport operators to notify truck arrivals by time zone into more than 40 empty container depots across Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Fremantle.

The new application is to feature:

  • A new tablet friendly user interface, including a transporter dashboard showing daily notifications and capacity across all facilities in each port
  • A streamlined booking process allowing for the booking of multiple containers and greater visibility of available capacity and fees
  • Enhanced editing of booked notifications including editing the container number

Containerchain managing director Chris Collins said the business was “constantly improving and innovating our products” for customers and industry.

“This is a new / upgraded product experience that captures a number of years of industry engagement and user feedback of our existing world-class vehicle booking system,” he said.

Mr Collins said the new / upgraded product provided a more user friendly user interface.

“We believe that ultimately features such as those mentioned above will save users time and provide more flexibility when making bookings at container facilities,” he said.

Mr Collins said the upgraded product release had been around two years in the making and represented ongoing investment in customers and industry.

“This is something we will continue to do with some exciting future plans ahead with the booking system and our other products now that we are part of the WiseTech Global group,” he said.

Container Transport Alliance Australia director Neil Chambers welcomed the changes as container transport companies and empty container depot operators had sought greater functionality for some time.

“For instance, the ability to amend the container number in a valid import de-hire Notification, and to book multiple containers in the one screen, will really save time and effort by busy fleet allocators across Australia,” Mr Chambers said.

“CTAA will be working collaboratively with Containerchain to ensure that the implementation of the new functionality is understood by all parties in the supply chain ahead of 1 August.”
