THREE new members have been appointed to the board of industry body the National Road Transport Association.

The appointments are:

  • Melissa Strong, safety, people and culture manager, Lindsay Australia Limited.
  • Tom Richers, operations manager, Richers Transport
  • Troy Cook, transport manager, Divall’s Earthmoving and Bulk Haulage.

“On behalf of the association and board of directors, I am pleased to welcome Melissa Strong, Troy Cook and Tom Richers to the board,” said chairman Scott Davidson.

“NatRoad will benefit from the unique experiences and vision they bring to the association.

“In welcoming our incoming Board Members, I am confident the proud traditions and legacy of all those that have served before will be upheld by the new generation.”

Chief executive Warren Clark said the knowledge and skills of the new board members would help the association in delivering improvements to efficiency, safety and sustainability.

Meanwhile Allan Thornley, Melanie Cosgrove, Steve Fieldus and Michael Murrell, have stepped down from their positions as directors.

The NatRoad Board is responsible for the governance and stewardship of the Association and now consists of nine members:

•             Scott Davidson, QMC Logistics

•             Alan Magill, A & R Magill Pty Ltd

•             Leslie Milne, Yatana Pty Ltd

•             Kellie Boland, Boland Transport Services

•             Maggie Welsh, Welsh Freight Services

•             Michael Kennedy, Tantusk Pty Ltd

•             Melissa Strong, Lindsay Australia Limited

•             Tom Richers, Richers Transport

•             Troy Cook, Divall’s Earthmoving and Bulk Haulage

“The road transport industry has changed tremendously over the last few years and is on the cusp of the greatest change in a generation,” Mr Davidson said.

“While our industry continues to achieve new milestones, there is still much to be done. Under the Board’s guidance, I am confident that NatRoad will continue to strongly advocate for its members, deliver initiatives to improve safety and advance the sector’s reputation.”
