VICTORIAN freight and ports minister Melissa Horne officially opened the Qube Ultima Intermodal Terminal, west of Swan Hill, northern Victoria.

Also attending were Qube managing director Maurice James and Pentarch Holdings chair Malcolm McComb.

Mr James spoke of the importance of regional investment.

“Through Qube’s significant $3.65m joint venture investment, the Ultima Intermodal Terminal will deliver jobs for the Mallee and take trucks off the road.”

Mr James said two trains a week were already using the Qube Ultima Intermodal terminal to provide integrated rail solutions to the intermodal and bulk markets, and Qube hoped to expand this when more local products became available later this summer.
