ISPT has signed appliances retailer Winning Group to a 45,500 square-metre new, purpose-built logistics and warehouse facility at its $300m PortLink Logistics Estate in Melbourne’s west.

The lease is for an initial term of 10 years and construction is expected to commence in early 2020 with Winning Group to occupy the new state-of-the-art facility from February 2021.

The new purpose-built Winning Group facility will serve as the company’s main Victorian warehouse and distribution centre.

Earlier this year, ISPT appointed Ben Keen as general manager – logistics and warehousing services with the strategic objective to increase ISPT’s logistics and warehouse allocation and actively create a portfolio of scale.

The new Winning Group and speculative facilities at PortLink will form the initial stage of the 26-hectare zoned and serviced $300m estate, he said.

“PortLink Logistics Estate is in an ideal position to take advantage of the logistics sector’s appetite for flexible, tailored industrial accommodation and we’re pleased to secure a quality anchor in Winning Group at the expanding estate,” Mr Keen said.

“Our recent industrial acquisitions and the pre-lease to Winning Group provide an opportunity for ISPT to grow our logistics and warehousing sector, through the development of a high quality portfolio in key industrial markets, with excellent access to transport infrastructure, consumer populations and logistic workforces.”

PortLink Logistics Estate is a masterplanned logistics and warehousing estate fronting Horsburgh Drive in Altona North, 14 kilometres from the CBD and close to the Princes Freeway, Western Ring Road and Port of Melbourne.

John Winning, CEO, Winning Group said, “We are delighted to announce our new Altona North distribution centre (DC) will open in February 2021.

“This will be the Winning Group’s largest distribution centre in the country and in our 113 year-old history. We will be increasing the size of our DC from 10,000 to 45,000 square metres.”

Its location has been carefully chosen to ensure that our Winning Appliances, Appliances Online and Home Clearance customers receive the most efficient delivery.
