THE 2020 DCN Australian Shipping and Maritime industry Awards, originally scheduled for 12 November, will now be held on 18 February next year.

This postponement is due to ongoing restrictions regarding interstate travel and public gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The event will still be held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Sydney and will be subject to the lifting of remaining restrictions.

As a consequence, Daily Cargo News is extending the deadline for nominations for the 2020 Awards, from Wednesday 7 October until Friday 30 October.

The Publisher of DCN, Lloyd O’Harte said the postponement and extension of the nomination period was the only realistic option for an event such as ours.

“As always I remain ever the optimist for the event and the industry in general,” Mr O’Harte said.

“DCN and our wonderful sponsors remain committed to recognising and rewarding the exceptional efforts and achievements of our industry high-flyers and to this end I strongly encourage everyone to nominate those individuals or entities who are worthy of this accolade.”

Nominations can be lodged via DCN’s website www.thedcn.com.au or by email to lloyd.oharte@thedcn.com.au.
