THE MISSION to Seafarers Melbourne staff and board members were thrilled to meet with the Philippines Consul General Maria Lourdes M. Salcedo and Deputy Consul General Anthony A.L. Mandap to discuss the welfare of crews coming to Australia, and the services provided by the Flying Angel Clubs.
Crew numbers visiting the Mission in Melbourne prior to the pandemic were 43% Filipino, and the Mission’s Chaplain Rev. Inni Punay is from the northern Luzon region placing him as a firm friend of the crews when they need someone to talk to.
The visit to the Mission was a first for the Consul General, and she enjoyed the tour of the historic/contemporary site. The tour finished in the magnificent Norla Dome.
