SUPPORTING efforts to make trade digital is the aim of a memorandum of understanding between the Australian Border Force and the Singapore government.
Australian Border Force Commissioner Michael Outram countersigned the MOU with Singapore last week.
Singapore’s Ho Chee Pong, director-general Singapore Customs and Tan Kiat How, chief executive, the Infocomm Media Development Authority have also signed the MOU.
“This MOU will support Australia’s efforts to make trade digital, seamless and secure,” Commissioner Outram said.
The MOU is expected to allow ABF and Singapore Customs to trial the digital exchange of trade documentation and explore how our trade single windows can be connected to facilitate customs data exchange.
“A secure and efficient trading environment is essential to supporting Australia’s economic prosperity,” Commissioner Outram added.
