INTERNATIONAL logistics and digital supply chain solutions operator Blume Global has announced they are opening a new Asia Pacific regional office in Hong Kong.
“Hong Kong is a hub for multi-modal logistics companies, air and ocean carriers and container terminal operators and we anticipate many opportunities to collaborate with customers in the city and across the region to support their digitalisation journey,” said Pervinder Johar, chief executive, Blume Global.
Blume Global (Asia Pacific) managing director, Mark Yong, was optimistic about the fortunes of the new operation.
“Our mission is to empower companies, large and small, to successfully manage logistics execution across the supply chain network, in Asia and around the world,” Dr Yong said.
“I am very proud to be able to announce that we have opened the doors to this region via Hong Kong. Hong Kong serves strategically as an entry point to the growing Asian market.”
Invest Hong Kong director-general of investment, Stephen Phillips, said the government of Hong Kong was embracing fully, innovation and technology.
This, he said, “provides a nurturing environment for Blume Global, in addition to the tremendous opportunities arising from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area development”.
While known as one of the great business hubs of the world, Hong Kong has in recent times suffered political instability via opposition to the influence of China, while the outbreak of coronavirus on the mainland is also cause for possible concern.
