THE call is out for nominations ahead of the 24th annual Australian Shipping & Maritime Industry Awards on 14 November.
The event is to be held at Plaza Ballroom, 191 Collins Street, Melbourne.
People and businesses are encouraged to nominate themselves or others in the many different categories.
Categories including Newsmaker of the Year and the always intriguing Hall of Fame inductee.
Last year’s HoF inductee was, Alan Tait, a respected figure from Australian shipping and logistics.
Awards include, Port or Terminal of the Year, Supply Chain and Technology, Young Achievement, Maritime Services, Environmental or Safety, Customer Service, Liner Trades, Seafarers’ Welfare, Customs Broker of the Year, Excellence in Bulk Handling or Heavy Lift and Freight Forwarder of the Year.
Last year also included two popular new divisions:
Gender Diversity Award – recognition of a company that best embraces fairness, equality and inclusion by actively encouraging gender diversity.
Women in Shipping & Maritime Logistics Award – recognises an individual’s exceptional contribution that demonstrates outstanding leadership leading to the implementation of sustained improvements in the workplace.
