CARGOTEC announced Israel’s busiest port bought eight Kalmar G generation medium forklifts and seven Kalmar Gloria reachstackers.
Kalmar, part of Cargotec, booked the order in the third quarter of 2018, and all machines had been delivered by the second quarter of 2019.
Ashdod Port is Israel’s busiest port by volume and is a major gateway for imports and exports for the country.
Kalmar’s G generation forklifts feature reduced fuel consumption and reduced maintenance costs.
The Kalmar Gloria reachstacker features a cabin with a panoramic view and intuitive interfaces.
One of the units supplied to Ashdod Port features extension legs to enable it to handle open-top containers for handling odd loads.
All units supplied to Ashdod also feature the SOLAS-compliant Kalmar Load Measurement System for accurate measurement of the verified gross mass of the load being handled.
”We especially appreciate… the high quality and fantastic reliability of their mobile equipment solutions,” Ashdod Port company vice president logistics Shimon Sytniavsky said.
Kalmar Solution sales manager mobile equipment Ignacio de Sebastian said he was pleased to continue the company’s working relationship with the port.
“Our latest generation forklift and reachstacker platforms are in service with terminal operators all around the world, helping them to ensure safe, reliable and cost-efficient transport of loads of all shapes and sizes,” he said.
