LUFTHANSA Cargo, WiseTech Global and IBS Software have joined forces to deliver a large scale paperless digital ecosystem for air cargo stakeholders.
In a joint media release the companies said the move is one of the first large‑scale, multi‑stakeholder implementations of IATA’s new ONE Record data‑exchange standard, marking a significant step forward in air‑cargo digitalisation.
IATA introduced ONE Record in January 2026 to create a unified, paperless and transparent digital ecosystem for air‑cargo stakeholders.
Lufthansa Cargo, WiseTech and IBS have now operationalised the standard in a live production environment, enabling shipment records created in WiseTech’s CargoWise platform to be seamlessly received and processed by Lufthansa Cargo’s systems via the IBS ONE Record server.
The companies say the new standard allows more data formats, pre‑transport data validation, and end‑to‑end transparency down to individual shipments. The initial use case involved exchanging Master Air Waybill‑level data between forwarders and the airline, demonstrating how ONE Record can replace fragmented communications with a single, standardised source of truth.
Lufthansa Cargo’s head of information management, Dr Jasmin Kaiser, said the airline has been driving ONE Record adoption for years and is now ready to connect with customers and partners “faster and more efficiently at scale,” adding that seamless data exchange will underpin future digital and AI‑powered services.
WiseTech senior product manager Elias Hatzigeorgiou said the collaboration shows what is possible when industry leaders align around a digital vision, arguing ONE Record will unlock new levels of transparency and efficiency across the global supply chain. IBS Software’s cargo and logistics head, Radhesh Menon, described the partnership as a significant moment for industry‑wide digital innovation.
The companies say the implementation is an important step toward faster, more resilient and more transparent cargo transport, with broader rollout to customers expected as the industry transitions to the new standard.
