THE training and consultancy division of the Australian Maritime College has developed a range of online training courses to support the maritime tanker industry.

The snap back in demand for tankers has placed extra pressure on the sector that is stocking up ahead of the predicted rebound in world trade growth.

Anita Robson, manager of training at AMC Search said, “To meet the challenge head-on, the sector needs training solutions that can be delivered efficiently and effectively for both companies and crew.

“Seafarers spend significant time away from their family and friends so any additional support that the training sector can provide for them to train from their home base is a genuine advantage.

“The new courses allow seafarers to undertake vital familiarisation training in their own time from anywhere in the world, instead of having to travel to a training centre for classroom-based learning and STCW assessment,” she said.

The online course developed and produced by AMC maritime training specialists provides both companies and individual seafarers significant time and cost savings without compromising on the quality of learning outcomes.

The familiarisation courses are engaging and present information with 3D animations, simplified gamification teaching techniques, graphics and videos to keep trainees interested.

Until 31 August 2021, AMC Search is offering a 20% discount on both courses to help the sector rebound from the major financial and social challenges it has suffered during the pandemic.

The two courses are Tanker Familiarisation (Oil & Chemical) and Tanker Familiarisation (Liquified Gas). They are approved by AMSA, and certificates are accepted by all major flags including Panama, Marshall Islands, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Liberia.
