THE ports of the Pilbara Ports Authority handled a total monthly throughput of 63.2 million tonnes of cargo in June.
The number is a 7% decrease on the same month last year.
Port Hedland handled 50.8 million tonnes of cargo over the month.
Iron ore exports accounted for the lion’s share of that cargo with 50.4 million tonnes. This was a 3% decrease when compared to June 2020.
Imports through the Port of Port Hedland totalled 173,000 tonnes, a decrease of 10% from the same month in 2020.
The Port of Dampier’s throughput over last month was 11.3 million tonnes, a 23% decrease from June 2020.
Imports through the Port of Dampier totalled 77,000 tonnes, a decrease of 39% from the same month in 2020.
