AFTER three years as Carnival Australia’s chief strategy and external affairs officer, Teresa Lloyd is taking up a role as an advisor at Rio Tinto.
Ms Lloyd, who was CEO of Maritime Industry Australia Ltd from 2003 to 2022, and a DCN Maritime Industry Hall of Fame inductee in 2022, announced her move on LinkedIn last night [30 June].
“After an incredible three years at Carnival, it’s the right time for the next challenge,” Ms Lloyd wrote.
“I am extremely proud of all the achievements I’ve led and the teams I’ve had the privilege to work alongside.
“Whether that’s been working with our partners in New Caledonia and Vanuatu through civil unrest and natural disasters (thank you again ProRescue & ProMedical for your fearless dedication); the safe resumption of cruising post-pandemic; collaborating with our port partners to secure cruise visitation; protecting our brand and reputation through times of considerable change; celebrating P&O’s 92 year history; and recently, seeing the beloved P&O Cruises Australia brand honoured as that chapter closed.
“And with that, I am excited to commence a new advisory role with Rio Tinto.”
Ms Lloyd holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Naval Architecture) degree from the Australian Maritime College and a Master of Business Administration degree from La Trobe University.
