SINO-Polish shipping line Chipolbrok and its subsidiary HongFa Shipping have appointed Quay Shipping as their exclusive agent in Australia.
Chipolbrok is also this week celebrating its 70th anniversary. It was established on 15 June 1951 between the governments of China and Poland. Its head office is in Shanghai, with a European base in Gdynia.
Chipolbrok/HongFa owns and operates a fleet of modern multipurpose, geared, semi-container triple-deckers with a total DWT of nearly 1 million tonnes. The vessels also have a combined total crane max capacity lift of 700mt, making them ideal for project cargo.
HongFa Shipping Shanghai deputy managing director Jin Hao told Daily Cargo News the Chipolbrok name is famous for being a dedicated and established company in the specialised market of multipurpose shipping.
“The company has been carefully and successfully expanding its global service. HongFa shipping, the dedicated southern hemisphere brand on Chipolbrok has been providing inducement voyages to/from Australia on an ad hoc basis for several years,” he said.
“We have carried many types of project cargo, [including] windmill, module, RTG, equipment, transformer, metro, locomotive, fabrications, pipes, steel structures, logs and more. However, now we want to put an anchor into this trade and to do so we needed a dedicated, professional partner and after careful consideration appointed Quay Shipping as our Australia partner.”
Quay Shipping managing director Darren Dumbleton told Daily Cargo News, “We are delighted to be appointed as Chipolbrok/HongFa exclusive agent in Australia. Mr Jin and I have known each other a long time; it’s a great honour for Quay Shipping to partner with Chipolbrok/HongFa, a trusted global brand. It’s a great opportunity for Quay to expand its principal coverage and work with Chipolbrok/HongFa to develop a dedicated service to/fm Australia.”
Mr Jin Hao, said although the major focus will be to North/South Asia – China – Australia trade, Quay Shipping will represent all services provided by Chipolbrok/HongFa globally and all enquires for Australia-based customers should be directed to Quay Shipping.
