CONTAINER throughput in November at Fremantle Ports was at its highest since April, according to the latest trade statistics from Fremantle Ports.

In November, a total of 69,922 TEU crossed the wharves at the Western Australian port. This was the biggest monthly number since April’s 72,342 TEU.

November’s throughput was an increase of 18% on October’s total container throughput of 59,102 TEU. And, it was a slight (1%) decrease on November 2020’s container throughput of 70,588 TEU.

November’s total container throughput was above the average for the past 12 months of 64,890 TEU.

At 29,870 TEU, total containerised exports from the port in November were roughly in line with October’s numbers but down by 15% on November 2020’s exports.

In November, total containerised imports leapt 37.6% from 29,113 TEU in October to 40,052 the following month.

Year-on-year, imports were up as well – November 2021 saw an increase of 13.5% on the same month in 2020.
