PACIFIC Islands logistics specialist Kalgin Global Logistics has acquired Queensland International Freight Services.

Brisbane-based QIFS is a specialist in the Papua New Guinea trade. The company’s founder and managing director Nancy Atkins has been at the helm since 1988.

In a statement announcing the acquisition, Kalgin said QIFS is a perfect fit for the company. Kalgin was established in Sydney in 1989 and today has offices throughout Australia, New Zealand and Fiji, and is supported by a global partner network.

Kalgin managing director Richard Lamport said he sees this as a key milestone in the group’s long-term plans.

“We are incredibly proud and excited to enhance our service offering into the PNG market and welcome the QIFS team into the Kalgin family,” he said.

“We look forward to delivering new levels of customer experience for all QIFS customers and sharing with them Kalgin’s core ethos of delivering dependability.”
