CONTRACT logistics provider DHL Supply Chain has announced the appointment of Guillaume Burette as its chief operating officer (COO) for the Asia Pacific.
The appointment took effect on 26 October.
Mr Burette is expected to drive operational excellence and support customer growth across the region.
He is to sit on DHL Supply Chain’s global operations board and its Asia Pacific management board, reporting to Mauricio Barros, global COO of DHL Supply Chain, with a dotted line to Javier Bilbao, chief executive, Asia Pacific, DHL Supply Chain.
He is to be based in Hong Kong initially before moving to Singapore.
“Guillaume knows this region and its operations inside out and he has a real track record of building strong teams and growing businesses,” Mr Bilbao said.
“As our customers look for more resilient and efficient supply chains, his experience will help us keep raising the bar on operational excellence across Asia Pacific.”
Mr Burette brings more than 20 years of supply chain and logistics experience, most of it in Asia, where he has worked since 2003, apart from a two-year stint in Europe.
He joins DHL Supply Chain from his most recent role as managing director, Southeast Asia, at a contract logistics firm.
“I have spent most of my career in contract logistics here in Asia and DHL is a company I have always looked up to,” Mr Burette said. “Supply chains in this region are evolving fast and customers need operations they can rely on when things get complicated.
“I am looking forward to getting to know the teams on the ground and working with them to deliver for our customers.”
Mr Burette’s appointment strengthens DHL Supply Chain’s leadership team in Asia Pacific as the business continues to expand its capabilities, help customers build supply resiliency and support them in navigating increasingly complex supply chains across the region.
