DP World has teamed up with Australian non-profit LiteHaus International on a digital education initiative aimed at improving access to technology for about 4700 students across five schools in Fiji.
Under the program, four schools in Nadi, along with Suva Grammar School, will receive digital learning hubs, laptops and online learning resources. The initiative is designed to help bridge the digital divide and build digital skills among Fijian students. It also supports LiteHaus’s goal to “digitise one million dreams by 2027”.
The move comes as DP World expands its footprint across the Pacific and increases its focus on community investment, education and long-term economic development in the region.
Nicolaj Noes, executive vice president, Oceania, DP World, said the company wanted to create lasting value for local communities as its presence in Fiji grew.
“As DP World’s presence in Fiji continues to grow, we are committed to creating lasting value for local communities and supporting the country’s long-term economic and social development,” Mr Noes said.
“Through our partnership with LiteHaus, we are helping equip thousands of Fijian students with access to the digital tools and skills that will support their futures.”
The program includes multiple digital learning hubs and more than 50 devices for students and teachers. Students will also be given access to DP World’s Global Education Platform, which includes a range of e-learning modules.
LiteHaus head of program delivery Rob Birnie said the laptops would help students develop core digital capabilities while also supporting classroom teaching.
“We are proud to partner with DP World in the delivery of laptops to schools across Fiji,” Mr Birnie said.
“These laptops will enable students to develop essential digital skills, access new learning resources, and participate more confidently in technology-enabled education. They will also support teachers to deliver more engaging lessons, strengthen classroom learning, and better prepare students for a future where digital capability is increasingly important.”
The partnership aligns with Fiji’s priorities around education and digital inclusion, while also reflecting DP World’s broader focus on responsible investment and sustainable growth across the Pacific.
