THE SHIPPING & Logistics Charity Golf Day returns to Long Reef Golf Club on 23 October, this year in partnership with The Kids’ Cancer Project. The organisers confirm the event is again near capacity and edging closer to an extraordinary $1 million raised for children’s cancer research and care.
More than 108 golfers from across the shipping and logistics community are already locked in for a day of competition, networking and fundraising. While the field is almost full, organisers say they will gladly look at accommodating additional players if it means further sponsorship funding lifesaving research for the Oncology Ward at Westmead Children’s Hospital.
The committee is also seeking donations, auction items and prizes, with all contributors to be recognised in a dedicated Daily Cargo News “Shout Out” closer to the event.
Funds raised continue to support lifesaving research and care for children facing this serious illness. Families who have benefited from these programs will again share their stories at the popular postgolf lunch, a highlight of the day.
With the fundraiser now sitting at $910,000 raised to date, organisers are confident this year’s event will push the industry closer to the milliondollar milestone.
