IN A joint statement, NSW Police and Australian Border Force said an investigation has begun after a large amount of the drug “ice” was seized at the Sydney Container Examination Facility.

The drugs were found in a container from Singapore declared to contain electronic ovens. It was found to contain 11 commercial refrigerators and x-rays revealed inconsistencies with their construction.

The refrigerators were unpacked and seven were found to contain a total of 561 packages of white crystalline substance, with presumptive testing returning a positive indicator for methylamphetamine, otherwise known as “ice”.
