THIS morning (2 August) the Freight & Trade Alliance and the Australian Peak Shippers Association were advised by DP World Australia executives that industrial action had ceased at all four of its terminals.

The FTA said it understood the Construction Forestry Maritime Mining Energy Union has committed to “constructive negotiations with the terminal operator”. These negotiations are expected to commence soon.

“This is a very positive development for industry and hopefully something that will provide more certainty to importers, exporters and other port users in the weeks and months ahead,” the FTA said.
